Overview

The (DUI) Module (Driving Under the Influence) of the STISIM Drive™ line of PC based driving simulators educates drivers about the dangers of driving while impaired. The DUI driving simulator is a significant educational and accident prevention device. Not only does it provide a valuable and cost-effective lesson in a safe computer generated environment, but it also it makes participant drivers aware of the consequences of impaired driving in the real world. The STISIM Drive™ DUI driving simulator gives the participant drivers a sense of how risky it is to drive under the influence.

Module Features Realistic visual imagery and driving situations. Simulated vehicle behavior based on expected Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) level. BAC level computed using a scientifically accepted formula based on gender, age, body type, number of drinks and consumption time. Simulation of "tunnel vision" effect at high BAC levels. Challenging driving situations that emphasize quick maneuvering to avoid collision. Performance feedback to illustrate the effect of driving while impaired. Easy to operate and maintain (PC-based, Windows? interface). Simulation configuration options customized to application (portable demonstrator, museum exhibit, etc.)
