Overview
Simulation is ideal for safely and efficiently prototyping new system ideas and testing the effects of various automotive systems on driver behavior. Over the years STISIM Drive® has been applied to a range of applications involving automotive design. Our simulator allows for appropriate experimental designs that control for independent variables (driving events) and dependent variables (measures) of importance in prototyping and testing of new automotive systems. STISIM Drive® has been used successfully by various departments within several automotive companies for a range of prototyping and testing applications.
Applications

- Hardware in-the-loop simulations of speed control, braking and steering systems.
- STISIM Drive® and our vehicle dynamics module, VDANL™, have been interfaced through Controller Area Network (CAN) buses and other digital and analog I/O cards to assess system performance and driver reaction to new system characteristics.
- Evaluation of various Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Use the Open Module feature to develop specific interfaces for ADAS hardware.
- Determination of the distracting effect of ADAS on driver attention.
